Erik Wilkerson, Psy.D.

Thank you for navigating to my page! My name is Dr. Erik Wilkerson, and I am passionate about providing evidence based care in a non-judgemental setting. A little about me:

I am a graduate of the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium. This program allowed me to receive academic instruction and clinical training from some of the best academics and clinicians in the country. I have extensive experience providing Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and psychological assessment.

I have been using CBT with my clients since participating in Dr. Burns’ Stanford training group in 2016. Since that date, I have been continually impressed with this approach’s ability to liberate individuals from old narratives and habits that no longer serve them. I have successfully helped individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis, sexual difficulties, and relationship distress with their partners.

My predoctoral training settings include the Mental Health Clinic of the Palo Alto VA, the Gronowski Center, El-Camino Hospital’s Psychiatric Inpatient Unit, and the Psychological Assessment Unit of the Palo Alto VA.

I completed my predoctoral internship at Sutter Health’s psychiatric inpatient unit in San Francisco, where I received advanced training in psychological assessment, couple therapy, and psychoanalytic approaches to therapy.

My clinical practice is informed by my previous life experiences. As a former officer in the Marine Corps, I served in Iraq and Afghanistan with a diverse mix of men and women from around the world. These experiences taught me how to connect with individuals across differing political beliefs, races, religions, or genders. Both then and now, my passion is helping individuals to become the best version of themselves.
